1. The service
FightForFunds operates head-to-head fundraising competitions ("Fights") between verified fundraisers. Donations are made in USDC and held in an on-chain escrow contract on the Sui network until the Fight resolves.
2. The core rule
When a Fight ends, the side with the larger total receives the entire combined pot minus a 3.5% platform fee. Donations made to the losing side are redirected to the winning side's verified recipient wallet. If the two sides end exactly tied, the pot is split 50/50 between the two recipient wallets, with the fee taken from each half. Donations are final and non-refundable except where a Fight is cancelled, in which case original donations are recoverable on-chain by the donating wallet.
3. Eligibility and acceptance
You must be 18 or older and located in the United States. FightForFunds is available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. Geofencing is enforced at the network edge; circumventing it with a VPN is a violation of these terms. By using FightForFunds or making a donation, you confirm you meet these requirements and agree to these Terms, the Donor Agreement, and the Privacy Policy. We may introduce identity verification for larger cumulative donations; when that control is active it will apply above published thresholds, and until then the per-Fight per-wallet limit is the operative control.
4. Not gambling, not investment
Donations are gifts to the prevailing cause under the redirect rule. Donors receive no money, prizes, or financial return under any outcome, and no chance-based mechanic exists: outcomes are determined solely by donation totals.
5. Fiat purchase timing
Card purchases through our on-ramp partner close 30 minutes before each Fight deadline, because card settlement takes time. Donations from a funded wallet work until the final second.
6. How on-chain settlement works
When a Fight's deadline passes, donations stop, but the result is not finalized instantly. The escrow contract opens a short settlement window — about 24 hours by default — after which the Fight can be resolved on-chain. Resolving is permissionless: anyone can trigger it, not only us, and whoever does earns a small resolver bounty (0.1% of the pot, capped at $50) paid out of the platform fee — never out of the pot or any donation. In normal operation our automated keeper resolves and pays out; the permissionless path exists so settlement can never stall on us. If a recipient wallet is ever deny-listed (for example, a sanctioned address), only that wallet's share is held back — it stays in escrow, claimable indefinitely if the block is lifted, and no admin can ever sweep or redirect it; every other party is paid normally.
7. Direct on-chain donations
The escrow lives in a public, permissionless smart contract. Anyone with a Sui wallet can send USDC directly to a Fight's escrow on-chain, outside our website. Donations made that way bypass our jurisdiction check, our bot protection, and per-wallet screening, and we cannot see a display name, referral, or anonymity choice for them. We neither solicit nor endorse direct on-chain donations: the website is the only supported and screened way to give, and these Terms — including the eligibility rules above — govern your use of it. A direct on-chain donation is made entirely at the sender's own risk and remains bound by the same immutable contract rules: the redirect rule, the 50/50 tie split, and refunds only on cancellation.
8. Fees
The platform fee is 3.5% of the final pot, deducted at distribution and capped at 5% by the escrow contract itself. There are no other donor-facing fees charged by the platform; network gas is sponsored. If you fund a donation with a card, the third-party on-ramp charges its own card fees and spread, disclosed at the funding step.
9. Fundraiser obligations
Fundraisers must be verified, provide truthful campaign content, and hold written authorization to fundraise for the stated cause. Misrepresentation results in removal and may result in a Fight being frozen or cancelled by the platform's emergency controls (maximum freeze: 7 days).
10. Disputes and liability
The on-chain contract state is the authoritative record of every Fight. Platform liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Disputes are resolved in the operator's jurisdiction of incorporation.
